Laughter Thought Leader: Elaine Williams

Did you know that the latest statistic says that we see 6,000 messages coming at us per day? 6,000!

How Can You “Stop The Scroll”?

There are more social media channels popping up. The launch of ChatGPT was the biggest launch in the history of mankind: 100 million users in the first 2 months.

The world is going faster and faster; the marketplace is getting more and more crowded.

“You do it with compelling and captivating STORIES.”

So how can you stand out? How can you “Stop the Scroll”?

You do it with compelling and captivating STORIES.

Our brains are trying to sort through the massive amounts of information coming at us. Our brains are like a highly caffeinated detective: Do I need to know this? No. Is this important? Not sure. Oh, what about this? YES.

Many of the messages don’t even register with us.

Tell A Story, Make A Point:

Information, data, messages, advertisements.

Until…Information + Emotion = Long-Term Memory = STORY.

Our brains LOVE stories. Look at the 96-billion-dollar entertainment industry. When we communicate using a story, our brains have a tendency to perk up.

This is one reason why I’m so passionate about teaching “story.”  When you can learn how to harness the power of “story” in your marketing, you will create deeper connections with customers, differentiate your brand and grow your business.

Stories can leave a lasting impact. Tell a story, make a point.

Authenticity Creates Emotional Connections:

Storytelling allows entrepreneurs to express their authentic selves and connect with their target audience on a deeper level. By sharing personal experiences, struggles, and triumphs, entrepreneurs can evoke emotions and establish a genuine connection with their customers. Authenticity builds trust, and when customers feel emotionally connected to a brand, they are more likely to become loyal advocates and support its mission.

“I’ve been in recovery for three addictions and humor has been a huge part of my healing journey.”

I often share how I put the fun back into dysfunction when I became a stand up comedian and used comedy on college campuses to teach about addiction awareness, prevention and response. I’ve been in recovery for three addictions and humor has been a huge part of my healing journey. It still feels vulnerable to share about my darkest messes…and I breathe and do it anyway, in spite of being afraid of being judged, because I know that my stories save lives.

Communicate Purpose and Values:

Storytelling is a powerful tool for communicating the purpose and values behind a brand. Female entrepreneurs often have unique stories that led them to start their businesses, and sharing these narratives can create a sense of purpose and inspire others. By weaving their core values into their storytelling, entrepreneurs can attract like-minded individuals who resonate with their mission, fostering a community of loyal customers and supporters.

Part of my brand is to “feel the fear and do it anyway”. My mission is to use my story for good; to help heal the world one joke, one story, one video at a time. And to teach others to do the same. I often share vulnerable stuff on social media because it’s just who I am and I’m being a power of example to my clients and my communities. One of my mottos is: It’s not about being perfect, which doesn’t exist anyway. It’s about imperfect action every single day.

Differentiate from Competitors:

In today’s crowded marketplace, differentiation is key to standing out from the competition. Storytelling allows female entrepreneurs to showcase what makes their brand unique and special. By highlighting the distinctive aspects of their journey, products, or services, entrepreneurs can differentiate themselves and create a compelling narrative that captivates their audience. Effective storytelling helps businesses carve out a distinct identity, making it easier for customers to choose their brand over others.

I often encourage my clients to share their “wackiness” and to be loud and proud about it. Ok, so we don’t need to see every single meal you’ve ever eaten or prepared…unless that’s your business, but we want to know who you are as a human being. We want to see what’s behind the curtain…to a degree.

One day right after an intense spin class, I had an inspiring thought I wanted to share on social media. I was drenched in sweat, my hair was a mess and I was red faced and blotchy. I pressed GO anyway and because it was straight from my heart, people LOVED it.

“A well-crafted story has the power to STOP time”

Memorable Branding and Messaging Will Stop The Scroll:

A well-crafted story has the power to create a lasting impression. A well-crafted story has the power to STOP time; to get the audience to stop what they’re doing and forget everything else in that moment.

When customers remember a brand’s story, they are more likely to engage with it, share it with others, and become loyal customers. Think of J.K.Rowling’s humble beginnings as a single mom writing on the train on her way into her job. She’s created one of the biggest brands of all time: Harry Potter. She’s brought joy to millions.

Kuel Women Inspire:

If you’re a woman who is up to big things and you must be because you are connected with this awesome platform and community, Kuel Life, then part of your mission is to share yourself in order to inspire others to do the same. Many of us are still unlearning the conditioning we received growing up in the patriarchy, in the 70’s and 80’s. We need each other to help remind us of who we truly are and what we are truly capable of!

So please share your stories of overcoming obstacles, being resilient when things didn’t go your way, We need to hear more from you; the real you, the “Youiest You You Can Be.” Stop the scroll, today.
