Google is constantly crawling and indexing websites in order to provide the best search results for users.

If you want your website to be found by Google, there are a few things you can do to help.

“When your page is indexed, it is then in the running to be displayed in the results for a query.”

1. Make sure your website is crawlable.

That means that all of the content on your pages is accessible to Googlebot, the crawler Google uses to index websites. Google is constantly scouring the internet looking for content. When it finds and crawls your site, it’s looking at the code/content for each URL. (You can check this by using the Fetch as Google tool in Google Search Console).

2. Make sure your website is indexable.

Once Google crawls your site, it then stores and organizes your content, i.e. gets indexed. When your page is indexed, it is then in the running to be displayed in the results for a query. (You can check this by using the Index Status report in Google Search Console to help you get found on Google).

3. Use keywords on your website.

Google will use these keywords to match your website with relevant searches. So, if you want your website to show up for the search “dog toys,” make sure you use that phrase somewhere on your site. Knowing what your target audience is typing in to find you is an important piece of this process. Be sure to use words they’re using, and not industry jargon or terms that they might not be using.

“Organic search engine optimization is a long game so you need to be willing to put in the work and be patient. “

4. Get high-quality links to your website.

Google uses links as a signal of the quality of a website. So, the more high-quality links you have, the better. Some ways to get high-quality links are to submit your site to directories, write guest posts on other blogs, and participate in forums.

Organic search engine optimization is a long game so you need to be willing to put in the work and be patient. Be sure you have a marketing strategy that’s driving direct traffic to your site such as email campaigns and social media. Over time, with consistency and diligence, your site will rise in the rankings making you more visible in search results. You will be found on Google!
