Navigating the changing waters of parent/child dynamics can have pitfalls. As a parent, it can be difficult to ‘let go’ of the parenting role. Allowing them to make their own decisions and mistakes (potentially big ones – in our opinion) is scary. The good news is that you don’t have to give up on everything. You can still ask for certain niceties; such as returning urgent texts or leaving the cellphone in the pocket during meals.
