Help me welcome Karen Viesta:
KUELLIFE: What type of business do you own/run?
Karen: I’m a Health and Life Coach who works with women over 40 who wish to transform their health and their lives.
KUELLIFE: What prompted you or drove you to become an entrepreneur? When?
Karen: I started coaching women over 40 when I went through my own struggles with perimenopause (and because Mother Nature has a sense of humor, this happened during the same year that I ended my 24-year marriage!?)
“My goal now is to help as many women as I possibly can to balance their bodies and their minds, feel great and age powerfully!”
I had a hard time finding doctors, therapists, etc. who were able to guide me to manage both the physical and emotional challenges that I was facing. In addition, I heard a lot of “well, that’s what happens over 40” and “it’s perimenopause; it will pass eventually”. I simply was not willing to resign myself to a life without vitality, pleasure, passion and purpose. So I set out to learn all I could about women’s wellness.
I also learned about thought work and life coaching and I was able to turn my entire life around within a very short period of time. My goal now is to help as many women as I possibly can to balance their bodies and their minds, feel great and age powerfully!
KUELLIFE: What’s your biggest struggle?
Karen: My biggest struggle is managing overwhelm. I have big goals and dreams and lots of exciting stuff happening, and I tend to want to do it all. I work to practice my own good advice and manage my thoughts so that I can show up powerfully with clarity and focus, rather than spreading myself too thin and exhausting myself.
Light And Fun:
KUELLIFE: What is your biggest fear as an entrepreneur? How do you work through it?
Karen: My biggest fear is probably the fear that this work, which I love so much, will someday feel like a chore. I want to always remain as passionate about it as I am right now, so I work at keeping my attitude about it light and fun, as much as possible.
KUELLIFE: How do you measure your success?
“don’t’ talk yourself out of your dreams”
Karen: I measure success by how calm my nervous system is. This sounds funny, I know, but when I’m relaxed and when I feel free and easy about life, I know I’m in a state of flow. And that is the state that I want to live in. For me, that’s success!
KUELLIFE: Finally, what advice would you give other women about taking an entrepreneurial path?
Karen: It’s been the most exciting journey and I only wish that I had done it sooner. The advice I would give other women who wish to try entrepreneurship is…don’t’ talk yourself out of your dreams. If you even have a tiny spark of desire, feed it and nurture it and pursue that desire. It will bring up all of your “stuff” and force you to confront all of your insecurities, but that is where all of the magic happens. It truly is an amazing opportunity for growth!
