This Small MakeUp Palette Is Perfect For Travel

MakeUp Palette Is Perfect For Travel

Beauty Thought Leader: Elise Marquam-Jahns

I recently purchased a very small face palette from the clean beauty brand RMS Beauty.

It includes lip balm, two cheek and lip colors, a bronzer and a highlight. The size of this face palette and the number of products in this palette really intrigued me because I can’t imagine a better makeup travel option!

And this palette also comes in two different color options. One’s a cooler color version called “Pop”—which I have. And the other palette has warmer colors and is called “Mod.” I couldn’t help swatching the colors when I first received this palette. But I haven’t actually tried out any of these colors to see if this palette is a good value–so that’s what I’ll be doing in today’s video below.

“It’s the mission of RMS Beauty to formulate products using raw, food grade, organic, wildcrafted and natural ingredients.”

TSA Sized Makeup Palette:

This small palette from RMS Beauty is called their Signature Set. A little background on RMS Beauty. Their founder, Rose-Marie Swift, is a pioneer in the clean beauty movement. For over thirty years she’s been a master makeup artist. And her lightbulb moment came when she realized that cosmetics could be made with better, safer ingredients, while simultaneously making women more beautiful.

She launched the brand in 2009. Since Rose-Marie was a professional makeup artist, it was important to her that RMS products were not only safe to use, but could also be beautiful and long-lasting on a photo shoot, a runway show, or of course for everyday wear. It’s the mission of RMS Beauty to formulate products using raw, food grade, organic, wildcrafted, and natural ingredients.

I will say that a number of RMS products do contain some form of coconut oil. So if you react to this ingredient, you’ll want to make sure to check the ingredient list of any product that might interest you.

My “Pop” Collection:

In the video below, I’ll first apply some of the RMS lip balm so it can sink in and absorb before I apply my lipstick. My “Pop” collection has the “Simply Vanilla” lip and cheek balm while the “Mod” Signature set has the “Simply Cocoa” lip and cheek balm.

Next, I’ll apply the Buriti bronzer which comes in my “Pop” Signature Set. The “Mod” Collection comes with the Master Mixer which is a highlighter that has a beautiful rose-gold pigment. It can be blended with any lip, cheek, eye or highlighting product to add a luminous rose gold hue. My Buriti bronzer is a hydrating cream bronzer. It contains shea butter for hydration, wildcrafted buriti oil for super antioxidant protection, and cocoa seed butter which conditions and fights free radicals.

It provides a lovely glow with no glitter and can create a natural sun-kissed glow or it can be used to contour. And it can also be used as cream eyeshadow which I’m going to do first in the video.

Small Signature Set Palette:

Next, I’m going to use the Buriti bronzer. This will provide some very natural-looking contour around the hairline, under the cheekbones and along the jawline.

The blushes in the RMS line are called “Lip to Cheek” colors. So all of them can be used for both blush and lipstick. There are seven colors in the RMS Lip2Cheek line. And two of these colors come in each of the small Signature Set palettes.

In my cool-toned “Pop” palette, I have the shades “Demure”. This is a soft pink rose and “Beloved” which is a true red with a hint of poppy. The Lip2Cheek colors in the “Mod” palette are “Smile”. This is a coral pink and “Spell” which is a nude, dusty rose. I love the soft pink shade “Demure,” so I’m going to use that as my blush today.

The highlighters from RMS beauty are some of my all-time favorites. They provide a lovely, soft glow which is subtle, but beautiful and they come in five shades. The original “Living Luminizer” shade provides an ultra-sheer, lit-from within glow—and it comes in the “Mod” Signature Set.

“You can certainly use a brush to apply these blushes, but I like to just tap them in with my fingers.”

Magic Luminizer:

The “Magic Luminizer” is slightly more opaque. It provides more of a moonlit champagne opalescence and comes in my “Pop” Signature set. The other three colors in the RMS Luminizer line are “Champagne Rose” which is a light blush pink; “Peach” which has peach with hints of bronze; and “Amethyst Rose” which is an icy lilac with a subtle rose hue.

You can certainly use a brush to apply these blushes, but I like to just tap them in with my fingers. Then I tap around the edges with the finger that doesn’t have the Luminizer product on it to make sure there are no harsh edges.

And now for lipstick. Although it’s certainly possible to create a subtle, light look by just tapping some of the Lip2Cheek color on the lips with the finger, I’m going to build it up a bit with a brush after applying my Maybelline Age Rewind concealer and my L’Oreal Age Perfect Lip liner. And I’m going to add just a touch  of my “Magic” Luminizer to the center of my lips to add some glow.

What’s In This Palette?

So let me take just a moment to share my thoughts on the products in this palette. The lip balm was fine and it’s nice to have it included in this collection—especially for travel. And I do truly love the looks that the bronzer creates as eyeliner and contour, the Lip2Cheek colors and the highlighter.

They all blend into each other effortlessly and beautifully. And all of the products—especially the Lip2Cheek products—are wonderfully buildable. This buildability factor really gives this palette a lot of versatility since it’s possible to create a very soft look or build up the products to create a slightly stronger look. And the size of this palette is very handy and perfect for travel, so this palette is definitely going to be in my TSA approved 3-1-1 quart size bag when we board a plane.

MakeUp Palette Is Perfect For Travel:

The only drawback with this palette is the amount of product in the palette—but on the other hand, it’s the small size that makes it so convenient and great for travel. And this small size also affords the opportunity to test some of the RMS products and colors before investing in a full-size product. All in all I’d say that these two Signature Sets from RMS Beauty are wonderfully convenient and contain a lovely selection of products with formulas that beautifully meld into the skin.
