Time To Reinvent: Beverley Glazer
Want to increase your net worth? How’s the self worth going?
Is Your Invisible Baggage Holding You Back? Every woman carries some kind of invisible baggage. It could be past disappointments, self-doubt, or the fear of failure. But for high-achieving women in midlife and beyond, this baggage often flies under the radar.
We’re so used to pushing forward, proving ourselves, and checking all the right boxes that we don’t stop to realize how much it’s weighing us down. that weight doesn’t only affect our emotions—it impacts our confidence, career choices, and even how much we earn.
Think about it. If you’re holding on to resentment from a job where you felt undervalued, the fear of rejection, or self-doubt from years of trying to meet impossible expectations, it becomes an invisible ceiling.
I’ve seen this time and again when I coach high-achieving women in midlife. The issue isn’t a lack of talent or skill—it’s the silent, unseen barriers they carry. But, you can break free from those self-sabotaging stories, and when you do your self-worth and net-worth will rise too.
“These beliefs prevent negotiating a raise, launching the business of your dreams, or charging what you’re worth.”
Why Self Worth and Net Worth Are Connected:
The stories we tell ourselves—whether it’s “I’m not good enough” or “I shouldn’t ask for more” shape us. These beliefs prevent negotiating a raise, launching the business of your dreams, or charging what you’re worth.
When you don’t own your value, other people won’t value you either.
3 Simple Mindset Shifts To Own Your Value And Increase Your Net Worth:
1. Own What Makes You Different:
Your experiences, your perspective, and your journey are what set you apart from the others. Yet so many women try to fit into someone else’s mold. The moment you embrace your uniqueness, you shine the spotlight on yourself and that’s what makes you apart.
Tip: Write down five things that make you stand out—your skills, your perspective, your experiences. (and what your friends say about you too). At times when you doubt your abilities, remind yourself the value you bring to the table.
2. Confidence Is a Game-Changer:
Confidence isn’t about knowing everything—it’s about trusting yourself to be able to figure things out. That trust shifts the way you negotiate, how you present yourself, and even how you walk into a room. Confidence in business and career advancement is not only about having the right skills—it’s about demonstrating that you can handle the situation.
Tip: Practice micro-confidence wins. Speak up in meetings, negotiate small things in everyday life, and remind yourself that each step builds momentum.
3. Stop Waiting for Permission:
Too many women are afraid of being too bold, too ambitious, or too demanding. But here’s the thing: No one will give you permission to be or say how you feel. You must own it, and you can always say it with grace.
Tip: The next time you catch yourself hesitating ask yourself, “What’s the worst thing that could happen? Then ask, “What’s the best that could happen?” More often than not, the upside far outweighs the risk.
“Too many women are afraid of being too bold, too ambitious, or too demanding.”
Take a moment to ask yourself:
- Where am I playing small in my career or my financial decisions?
- Where am I accepting less than I deserve?
- How would I show up in my work, relationships, and my daily life, if I truly owned my value?
When you release the beliefs that have been keeping you small, you break through the invisible ceiling and then nothing will stand between you and the success you deserve. As soon as you make the decision to own value, your world shifts and your self-worth and net-worth rises with you.
What’s one bold move you can make today to step to own your value?
