Time To Reinvent: Beverley Glazer
In midlife you can find yourself reflecting on all you’ve done, wondering, “How on earth did I ever do all that!
There is incredible strength deep inside you. But you never know how resilient and powerful you are, unless you are pushed to the limits to test your determination, courage, and indomitable strength. Much like my good friend Monica.
Monica built a successful consulting agency from the ground up. And then the stark reality of economic recession hit hard. Although she did her best to hold on to her business, she lost everything. Monica was forced into bankruptcy and had to endure the guilt, humiliation, and shame, as she painfully watched both her empire and her marriage crumble before her eyes.
“Midlife is not known for smooth transitions; it’s more like navigating a rocky terrain.”
Where do you go from here? At that critical time in her life, Monica was forced to make extreme changes – and transformation is never easy. But once the whirlwind of overwhelming despair settled, she embraced change with the new mindset of abundance. Although Monica was over fifty, and had expected to be contented in her life, she welcomed the opportunity to have a fresh start, and looked forward to the new possibilities that now were available to her.
The ‘Normal’ Midlife Wake-Up Call:
Midlife is not known for smooth transitions; it’s more like navigating a rocky terrain. A financial setback, a career change, a death, a medical diagnosis, ending a relationship, and all the ‘normal’ life transitions can hit very hard when you reach this period in your life.
But the good news is that amid the whirlwind of anxiety and confusion, once you’ve found your footing, and stop the spinning in frustration, an abundant and positive new mindset can3move you to discover an exciting direction and a new purpose your life.
3 Invaluable Hacks To Set You On This New Journey:
1. Acknowledge Your Fear:
Fear is a natural companion when you step into anything new. The trick is not to let your anxiety paralyze you. Instead, use it as a driving force to move you forward and keep going. Understand that fear is often an indicator that you’re on the verge of an empowering and exciting change.
2. Reflect On Your Values:
Take some time to delve into what genuinely matters to you. When you align your actions and decisions with your values you will have a solid foundation to move on to your next steps.
3. Seek Support:
Reach out to friends, family, or even a coach who can guide you. A like-minded community can provide the encouragement and resources you need to get through this new terrain.
“Always remember that the power to shape your destiny rests within you.”
New Discoveries And Personal Growth:
Always remember that the power to shape your destiny rests within you. So, instead of viewing challenges as obstacles, consider them opportunities for new discoveries and personal growth.
