Joy Kuel Thought Leader: Nina Obier
Who says we can’t have daily joy?
What’s bringing you joy? That is the lead question we have asked each other for four years in a Clubhouse room titled Cup of Joy. It’s simple. It’s powerful. It’s worth pondering every day.
Finding Daily Joy Through Stillness, Intention, And Gratitude:
Recently, I found myself restless. My energy felt off. I know that life is full of both joy and sorrow, and I believe they can coexist.
And yet, I couldn’t shake this thought: the word resentment kept surfacing for me. Honestly, I hadn’t even realized I was feeling that way—until I took a literal page from my journal, The Simple Way to Daily Clarity, which I published last year.
The first, second, and third concepts in my journal ultimately led me to this realization.
“Stillness creates space for clarity.”
1. Be Still:
Until you actually stop—the busy, the doing—you likely won’t get to the deep root of your feelings. Stillness creates space for clarity.
2. Be Intentional:
It’s easy to continue doing what we’ve always done or to follow the masses without much thought. But the most significant strides in my life have come when I got deeply connected to myself and followed the path meant for me.
“Be still, intentional, and mindful..”
3. Be Mindful:
Once I had stilled myself and set my intentions, I could bring my thoughts to counsel. In that meeting, I was reminded of the power of gratitude. Be still, intentional, and mindful of at least five things you are grateful for.
I’m here to share that even though I know this—even though I teach this—I had forgotten the power of it.
So, what’s bringing me joy? I get to celebrate what’s going right and feel joy, no matter what is happening in my life and the world around me.
