Time To Reinvent: Beverley Glazer
Let’s get down to business, the power of now is undeniable.
I always thought happiness and success were in the future and I’d achieve it someday – if I was ever good enough. So, regardless of what I accomplished in my career, or how much I learned, or how many accolades I received, it was always “not good enough.”
Listen To The ‘Inner Voice’
I was always chasing – and let’s face it, there’s always more to chase. So, for me, the present moment was not a place to be in. It was a place to escape from so I could get there.
But over the years, I’ve learned to live for the future but stay in the present and enjoy life as it comes, day by day. I’ve learned that whatever will be is out of my control, and I must appreciate the experience, good or bad – and learn to grow from it.
Because regardless of what’s happening in your life at the moment, in a nano-second everything can change, and quite frankly, all there is, is the ‘present moment’.
“Live quietly in the moment and see the beauty before you. The future will take care of itself.”
This is true for everything!
The spiritual teacher Yogananda has said, “live quietly in the moment and see the beauty before you. The future will take care of itself.”
Relationships, careers, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being all find their origin in the ‘power of now’. We are busy ‘rushing’, and ‘doing’ rather than stopping in listening. But to be truly happy and achieve what we want, we need to do is slow down, look inward and listen to the ‘inner voice’, because it knows.
4 Tips To Help You Listen To Your Inner Voice:
1. Practice Mindfulness
Mindfulness involves being fully present in the moment. This helps quiet the mental noise that can drown out your ‘inner voice’ but this can take time to achieve, so be patient.
What to do: Spend a few minutes each day practicing: Focus on your breathing, observe your thoughts without judgment, and bring your attention back to the ‘present moment’ whenever your mind starts to wander. This creates the mental space that’s necessary to hear your ‘inner voice’.
2. Eliminate Distractions:
Social media, news, and other distractions can cloud your thoughts and make it harder to hear your intuition.
What to do: Take regular breaks from all social media and set limits on negative news reporting. Instead, engage in activities that nurture your mind, such as reading, art, or walking in nature.
3. Ask Yourself Open-Ended Questions:
Open-ended questions can help you tap into deeper layers of your consciousness.
What to do: Ask yourself questions like, “What do I really want?” or “How do I feel about this situation?” Sit with the questions without rushing to find an answer. Often, your ‘inner voice’ will provide you with the insights you never would have expected.
“Open-ended questions can help you tap into deeper layers of your consciousness.“
4. Practice Patience:
Your ‘inner voice’ doesn’t always speak loudly or clearly, so once again, slow down and have patience.
What to do: Give yourself time. Don’t judge yourself harshly, rush the process or force the answers to come. Trust that when the time is right, the answer will be there.
“Make your life a masterpiece. Imagine no limitations on what you can be, have or do.” Brian Tracy.
Everything you need is right there inside you. So, ask yourself:
- Is my life a masterpiece—or is it one hot mess?
- Is my family, career, or relationships filled with joy and ease? If the answer is ‘no’, what’s missing?
- Ask yourself, what you could do differently to change this?
Now Is The Time To Make Those Changes:
I’m an expert in helping high-performing women navigate the stress of business, difficult family issues and relationships, so they can soar beyond their limitations. And I want to remind you that ‘now’ is the time to make those changes you’ve been putting off for far too long —don’t give yourself any more excuses. There’s no time like the present, and all you have is ‘now’.
