KUELLIFE: What type of business do you own/run?

Elysha: Personal Styling Business

Elysha Lenkin – Stylist To Celebrities:

KUELLIFE:  What prompted you or drove you to become an entrepreneur? When?

“I want to make it as effortless as possible for my clients..”

Elysha: I started as a freelance fashion stylist working for magazines, ads and celebrities back in 1995. So I’ve always been self-employed. But it wasn’t until 2018 that I started my Personal Styling business.

And the reason was that although I love working on commercial shoots (I just wrapped one last week!), my natural gifts and talents are better served helping “real” women show up with more confidence in their lives. I see too many women struggling with what to wear — whether it’s because they believe they don’t have the right body or they don’t know how to put together stylish outfits.

And since we get dressed every day (or at least most days 😊) I want to make it as effortless as possible for my clients — they have other things to focus on!

Identity Of “MOM”:

KUELLIFE: Whats your biggest struggle?

Elysha: Right now, I’m thinking about my kids who are getting older and will soon leave home. My identity of “MOM” is a big one for me. As a freelancer, I was always able to prioritize being present in my kids’ daily lives so I’ve spent a lot of time with them. Letting go of this identity feels sad.

KUELLIFE: What is your biggest fear as an entrepreneur? How do you work through it?

“I just keep delivering value and stay on top of my game.”

Elysha: My fears as an entrepreneur are constantly changing based on what’s going on in my business. But I guess the scariest is that no one will buy my thing! The way I work through this… I just keep delivering value and stay on top of my game.

Stop Worrying:

KUELLIFE: How do you measure your success?

Elysha: Looking at my growth — both personally (like what no longer scares me anymore that once did) and financially.

KUELLIFE: Finally, what advice would you give other women about taking an entrepreneurial path?

Elysha: Stop worrying about what others think of you…they’re not thinking about you! (They’re thinking about themselves.) Realizing this has made it much easier to show up in a bigger way in my business. Oh also, being comfortable in my skin…this is the key to coming across as effortless.
