Time To Reinvent: Beverley Glazer
Do you ever feel like your glory days are behind you?
You may be living a very busy and productive life, but it feels empty. Something is missing inside. This is a common sentiment among women who are embracing midlife challenges, and I hear it often. Women want to find purpose in midlife.
At one time, their life was filled with the excitement of school, a new job, a thrilling relationship, or starting a family. But now, as they face the reality of embracing midlife challenges, it seems like that chapter is over.
As a coach, I specialize in helping women embrace midlife challenges by changing their mindset and seeing life in a whole new light. The first step in embracing midlife challenges is to remember that you are more than your job. Loving your family is important, but it’s just as essential to love yourself. And it’s absolutely necessary to embrace your next chapter with purpose and joy.
“Loving your family is important, but it’s just as essential to love yourself.”
4 Tips To Lift Your Spirits And Embrace Midlife Challenges:
1. Embrace Gratitude:
What to Do: Each morning, acknowledge three things you’re grateful for. This can be very simple – appreciating a sound night’s sleep, enjoying your morning coffee, or thinking of a loved one’s smile. This practice is key in embracing midlife challenges with a positive outlook.
When You Don’t Feel Like It: Focus on the basics. Acknowledge the smallest things that are often taken for granted. This is particularly helpful in challenging times.
2. Find Your Tribe:
What to Do: Seek out and connect with people who inspire and uplift you. This could be online, through local clubs, interest groups, or classes. These connections are vital in embracing midlife challenges.
When You Don’t Feel Like It: Go online. Engage in positive groups and online discussions to lift your spirits.
3. Learn Something New:
What to Do: Challenge yourself with a new hobby or skill. This keeps your mind active and gives you a sense of achievement, an important aspect of embracing midlife challenges.
When You Don’t Feel Like It: Get inspired by watching videos, reading, or listening to podcasts. And when you feel up to it, you’ll do it.
“Celebrate small victories and keep moving forward from there.”
4. Move Your Body:
What to Do: Incorporate physical activities you enjoy into your daily routine. This boosts your mood and energy level, crucial for embracing midlife challenges.
When You Don’t Feel Like It: Opt for gentle, low-effort movements. Celebrate small victories and keep moving forward from there.
Remember, embracing midlife challenges is not about ignoring what happened. It’s about accepting it and choosing to make life better. So, pause for a moment and honor yourself for all the winding roads you’ve traveled. Your more radiant days are alive and waiting, as you walk with a wealth of wisdom into the next chapter of your life. It is never too late to find purpose in midlife.
