“My movement story is about the journey I have taken to honor and heal my ancestral legacies in order to embody my deepest purpose and offer my medicine to the world. It illuminates the evolution of feeling that I am a separate self, longing to belong, to the realization that I am a part of this living miraculous body of earth.
It honors pivotal experiences that have shaped me, from traveling the globe to planting a cherry tomato for the first time, to my love of dance. It is an offering for my 50th birthday, to mark this passage in time, as I am passing through enormous life transitions of divorce and my father’s death to reflect on how I want to live, and how I want to walk into my next chapter.
I share my story as a prayer for my ancestors, the earth and future generations.” – Areyh
