Time To Reinvent: Beverley Glazer
Fear! It can feel like an immovable wall, blocking you from your dreams and keeping you from the life you know you deserve.
But here’s the truth: fear isn’t some external force controlling your life. It’s not the monster lurking under your bed or an obstacle too great to overcome.
Fear Is Just A Thought:
Fear is just a thought—a thought you’ve chosen to believe.
This realization changed everything for me. Fear doesn’t come from the outside world; it’s created in your mind. It’s a story you’ve crafted, based on what you think might happen. But here’s the good news: Just as you’ve written that story, you have the power to rewrite it.
Being fearful doesn’t define you. It’s simply an unreliable witness to your life. And like any shaky testimony, it can be questioned. So don’t run from fear or hide from it. Instead, face it with curiosity. Ask yourself: “Where did this thought come from? Why am I feeling this way?” Fear is just that—a thought, not the truth.
” Fear is just that—a thought, not the truth.”
Fear Mindset: It’s All About Your Thoughts:
Most of us believe our emotions are caused by external events. But here’s the secret: Your emotions are created by the thoughts you choose to entertain. That’s the illusion we all fall into. And the best part? Thoughts are flexible. You can bend them, reshape them, or let them go entirely.
5 Powerful Tips To Overcome Fear-Based Thoughts:
-
Write It Down & Get Curious:
- Fear thrives in the shadows, but when you write it down, you bring it into the light. I ask my clients “What exactly are you afraid of?” When you dig deep, you’ll likely find that the fear is based on assumptions or worst-case scenarios that aren’t grounded in reality.
-
Challenge the Thought:
- Once you’ve identified the fear, challenge it. Imagine yourself as a lawyer cross-examining a witness. Ask, “Do I have concrete evidence that this will happen?” Most of the time, the fear will crumble under scrutiny. It’s a fear-based thought, not a solid fact.
-
Reframe Fear as a Guide:
- Instead of avoiding fear, reframe it as a guide. Fear often points toward growth. Ask yourself, “What is this fear here to teach me?” When you view it as a tool for self-discovery, fear becomes something that expands you, rather than something that holds you back.
-
Visualize the Opposite:
- If your fear makes you imagine a negative outcome, flip the script. I tell my clients to visualize the best possible outcome instead. Ask yourself, “What if everything went right?” This rewires your brain, helping you focus on possibilities rather than limitations. Both outcomes are ‘just thoughts’ but it’s better to keep the positive outlook.
-
Take Small, Manageable Steps:
- Fear often paralyzes us because we think we need to take giant leaps. But real progress happens in small steps. Break down your anxiety into bite-sized actions. Ask yourself, “What’s the smallest step I can take right now?” Start small, and soon you’ll find yourself gaining momentum.

Your Power Lies In Overcoming Fear:
Here’s what you need to remember: Fear isn’t something to avoid. It’s something to understand, challenge, and ultimately transform. You don’t need to be fearless—you just need to realize that fear is a thought. And thoughts? They’re within your control.
Why am I telling you this? Because I’m not here to fix you. I’m here to help you see that the limitations you believe in are just stories you’ve told yourself. I’m here to empower you to change those scenarios, break through self-imposed barriers, and claim the life you once thought was out of reach.
The power is already within you. Your life is waiting for you to step into it. Don’t let fear—or anything else—stand in your way. It’s time to embrace your negative thoughts, challenge them, and use fear only as the guide it was meant to be. This is your moment. Claim it. This is your time to shine!
