Mental Fitness Is The Key To Achieving Your Goals

Many people often ask me why I became a certified Tiny Habits Coach.

The answer is simple: I wanted to be better at creating lasting habits that allowed me to reach my personal and professional goals and feel happier and more fulfilled.

Create Habits:

As a coach, I realized that I have the opportunity to help people create habits that will help them achieve their goals and dreams.

“I realized I needed to figure this out for myself and help others do the same.”

In my practice as a Business and Life strategist Coach, I find that each of us has the power to create our success. By focusing on our habits, I believe we can build the consistent action that allows us to grow a successful business.

As I continued to work with women this past year, I began to notice that even though I was teaching them the best set of tools to grow their business; they were implementing Tiny Habits daily, there was still room for growth.

In other words, there was a piece of the puzzle missing. I realized I needed to figure this out for myself and help others do the same.

Build Mental Fitness:

During my inward journey, I realized I was not in shape. Sure, my physical health needed improvement, but more importantly, my mental health was also in dire need of improvement. I guess I had never realized that to create lasting habits that moved me toward my goals, I also needed to build my mental fitness to help me achieve a higher level of success.

The research defines mental fitness as measuring how quickly you can shift from negative to positive responses to challenges. For many of us entrepreneurs or high achieving women, the ability to change from negative thoughts that cause us emotional stress to calmer and more positive thoughts allows us to take action in a positive direction. Helping us find the gift even in challenging situations.

When we lack mental fitness, our stress level can affect us by having a straightforward circumstance spiral out of control. For example, this may happen when as business owners, we are falling behind on reaching our revenue goals.

Train Our Minds:

Many clients feel discouraged and lose steam in doing the “work” or consistently practicing their habits. This causes them to let their inner judge criticize them, causing them to feel emotions like disappointment, guilt, or even shame.

This leads to them falling behind and not always working on their business. This spiral continues and creates a slew of emotions that don’t allow us to take action forward.

By training our minds to shift from negative thoughts to more positive thoughts, we can begin to take action to change our circumstances. This allows us to feel more accomplished and motivated to stick to our habits.

When we feel good, our brain changes and begins to reinforce the Tiny Habits we have begun to practice.

3 Core Mental Fitness Muscles:

There are three core Mental Fitness muscles:

  1. The “Saboteur” Inceptor Muscle.
  2. Your “Sage” Muscles.
  3. The “Self-command” Muscle.

Today we focus on the first step in this process. We need to identify the saboteur’s thoughts that create negative emotions in our daily life. This is automatic programing in our brain for how we think, feel, and act. Saboteurs typically cause us stress, anxiety, self-doubt unhappiness, and undermine our performance and relationships.

Your saboteurs can be different from mine. Research has shown us that there are nine well-defined saboteurs in our brain. Learning to identify and derail them is the first step to mental fitness.

In the last few months, I began to work on my mental fitness, and I already see the difference in how laser-focused I am when I work on my business. I have experienced a significant improvement in my performance and, most of all, my relationships.
