Yvonne Marchese is a photographer and the host of the Late Bloomer Living Podcast.
I met Yvonne during the pandemic on the chat-only app, Clubhouse. If you haven’t checked this out, it’s a powerful platform where some powerful conversations are happening. It didn’t take long for me to realize just how much Kuel Life needed Yvonne’s wisdom and insights.
Graciously, Yvonne agreed to join the roster of Kuel Life Thought Leaders. She shares her perspective on our Midlife Reinvention. Take a moment to meet our very own, Yvonne. And, you can catch her conversation with Kuel Life, right here!
Yvonne – A Photographer And Host:
KUELLIFE: What type of business do you own/run?
“I wanted unlimited personal growth potential and control over my financial destiny.”
Yvonne: I host the Late Bloomer Living Podcast and the Midlife Uprising Community for women. I’m also a professional photographer who specializes in personal branding photography and family photography with my business Yvonne Marchese Photography.
KUELLIFE: What prompted you or drove you to become an entrepreneur? When?
Yvonne: I wanted unlimited personal growth potential and control over my financial destiny. I started learning photography after I was laid off in the 2008 financial crash and spent years honing my craft while working at a regular job until I could take the leap to work full time as a photographer.
In my late forties, I realized that I was holding myself back from larger challenges because I felt like I was too old. Once I broke through those self imposed limitations, I was inspired to start the podcast to give inspiration to other people in midlife who might be feeling stuck. I’ve since come to realize that we need to work on this in community with other women, so I started Midlife Uprising.
The Creative Type:
KUELLIFE: What’s your biggest struggle?
Yvonne: I continue to struggle with accepting that I am actually an entrepreneur. I’ve always been a “creative type”. My first career was as an actress in the theater industry.
KUELLIFE: What is your biggest fear as an entrepreneur? How do you work through it?
“The only thing stopping you is you.”
Yvonne: I worry that I started too late and that I don’t have what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur, but I am working through that by being in a business mastermind and surrounding myself with other entrepreneurs who have the same doubts and fears. We encourage and support each other to work through our fears.
Career Change:
KUELLIFE: How do you measure your success?
Yvonne: When someone tells me that they’ve been listening to the podcast and it’s inspired them to make a career change, go back to school, or take a chance on pursuing a dream my heart swells.
KUELLIFE: Finally, what advice would you give other women about taking an entrepreneurial path?
Yvonne: The only thing stopping you is you.
