"To Capture The Beauty Of The Mediterranean" – Asli Musso, Letters From Bosphorus

Being introduced to driven, smart, ambitious women is one of the most rewarding aspects of running Kuel Life. As a first generation American born to Cuban immigrants, I grew up as the child of refugees. My parents instilled a thirst for education and drive for success. I am attracted to like-minded women.
I was introduced to Asli a short while ago and have had a chance to get to know her and her gorgeous collection of soft furnishings. Asli Musso lives and works in Chicago but was born and raised in Turkey. She marries her love of design and her Turkish heritage into an exquisite collection of soft furnishings intended to gift us all a glimpse of the Mediterranean in our own homes. Asli also creates a line for babies, perfect for us women who want to purchase something special for our BABY’s baby.

Here’s Asli:

Born and raised in Turkey, I studied economics in Marmara University and graduated in 1999. Then, I have got my Masters in Business Administration from San Francisco State University to pursue a career in our family business in health sector.

But later on, my passion for aesthetics kicked in and exactly fourteen years ago, I decided to merge my background in finance with my passion for interior design to create a collection of authentic luxury in soft furnishings. My mission was – and is – to capture the beauty of the Mediterranean and reproduce it in an interior.

I have aimed my brand ‘Letters From Bosphorus’ to become a vessel for reviving the lost art of handcrafts, neglected during the era of industrialization in east and sharing these gems with West. 

Designed and made in Turkey, all products are brought to life directly from my design studio and the group of talented artisan women I collaborate with. This business empowers women by giving them a chance to put their passion into creating an object and making a living out of it. This work gives them the freedom to explore their creativity and artisanship, and satisfaction and pride.

We also support eco-friendly ways in production to promote sustainable way of living. Almost all our products are made with GOTS certified organic cotton. We support green areas in our hometown, donate saplings on a yearly basis, we plant in our garden organically, use sustainable packaging. We implement re-cycling in every possible ways in our studio.
