Small Space Fitness: Cat Corchado
When you learn to own your story in midlife, you stop waiting for permission and start showing up as the main character in your own life.
You know that feeling when you’re watching a movie or show and the main character walks through the world like it was made for them? That’s the energy we all deserve. Too often, though, we live like extras in someone else’s story. I want to change that.
Are You Living Like an Extra in Your Own Life?
Being the main character isn’t about being selfish or dramatic. It’s about ownership. It’s realizing that this is your story. You set the tone. You choose the pace. And you decide who gets a starring role next to you.
Ask yourself, are you living on autopilot? Are you waiting for someone else to give you permission to start? That happens a lot in midlife. But no one’s coming to hand you the script. You write it every single day.
What It Really Means to Own Your Story in Midlife
When you start showing up like the main character, you move differently. You wake up with purpose. You stop apologizing for taking up space. You stop shrinking yourself to fit other people’s comfort zones.
Sometimes being the main character means saying no to things that drain you. Not just things—people too. It can mean walking away from stories that no longer serve your growth.
Your Story Includes the Plot Twists Too
Being the main character doesn’t mean your life will always be easy. Think of a soap opera. The lead doesn’t live a perfect life. There are plot twists, messy chapters, and moments of doubt. But those are part of the story. They’re part of the character arc.
You’re allowed to evolve. You’re allowed to outgrow old versions of yourself. The main character doesn’t stay stuck. She learns, adapts, and keeps moving forward.
Celebrate Every Scene—Big or Small
Shining a spotlight on your life doesn’t mean pretending everything’s perfect. It means seeing the beauty in your own reality. Celebrate the little wins as much as the big ones. Romanticize your routines. Take yourself out on a solo date. Dress up for no reason. Capture moments simply because they make you happy.
When you start viewing your life as a movie, you stop waiting for big moments. You start creating them.
It’s Time to Step Into Your Spotlight
It’s the first day of November, let’s do this. This isn’t a one-time challenge—it’s an ongoing issue. I’m inviting you to step into your spotlight. Don’t dim your light for anyone.
You are the main character. The world deserves to see you shine.
I am the main character and the star of my own story. I hold the Emmy, the Oscar, and every other award in my life because I earned them. What about you?
Until next time, I’m Cat Corchado, your Movement Specialist.
