Fashion Kuel Category Expert: Tracy Gold
In this video I bust the commonly believed, but crazy myths of what short women can and cannot wear with style.
5 Myths Busted:
1.You do not have to wear painful high heels to look stylish
If you dress with the right proportions, you can wear flat shoes and low heels and still look stylish.
2.You can wear long dresses
Long dresses that fit in the waist and flare at the hem are really easy to wear and they can make you look taller!
3.You can wear bold prints
The key to wearing bold prints effectively, is in the shape of the garment, not the size of the print. If the garment is shapeless or too big for you, it will make you look bigger. Opt for fitted pieces in print and you will see the difference. PS.. prints are fabulous for disguising the parts you aren’t crazy about.
4.You should avoid cropped or 3/4 lengths
Most of us have heard stylists tell us that petite women should wear cropped pants, skirts and dresses. In my experience, they make you look shorter, not taller. Full lengths elongate while cropped shorten the perceived length of your legs.
5. ‘Covering up’ the parts you aren’t crazy about doesn’t work
Yet another myth, trying to cover up the parts you don’t like can make you look bigger and shorter. It’s important to dress for your body shape so you highlight the parts you love and disguise the parts you don’t.
Watch the video for more details on how to apply these tips to your body shape.
