If you have been scrolling reviews of the best dating sites for women over 50 and feel more confused than ever, this ranked list comes from a coach who used to work inside the industry.
“Laurie, which site should I join?” No question comes up more often with the women I coach. My answer usually surprises them: the site matters far less than the woman logging into it. Your mindset going in will make or break your online dating experience, and if you skip the inner prep, nothing on the list below is going to rescue you.
Get Clear Before You Go Online
So before you go online, get two things straight. Choose your lane, serious or casual, because each has a wrong site attached to it. Then know your type, because a profile written by a woman who is clear on what she wants draws the right men instead of an avalanche of wrong ones. If you still doubt online dating can work at our age, I make the full case in my podcast episode Online Dating After 50: Make It Work for You.

Two House Rules Before You Sign Up
Two house rules. Start with the free tier or a one-month plan, because you and the site might not click. And never run more than two sites at once; more inventory means more fatigue, not more matches.
How I Chose The Best Dating Sites For Women Over 50
This list favors sites built for older adults, with one exception. Two familiar names are missing on purpose: EliteSingles closed in April 2026 and relaunched under new owners with a brand-new member base. SilverSingles changed ownership after Spark Networks’ insolvency, so treat the site’s long-term continuity as uncertain.
Full disclosure: I was the resident love expert at Match, Zoosk and JDate, and I still call it like I see it. Prices were checked in September 2026. They vary by location, account, device, promotion, and purchase channel, and longer plans are usually billed upfront.
1. eHarmony: Let The Algorithm Do The Work
For women who want the site to do the matching. eHarmony wants to know you, not just your photos. The pool self-selects for long-term relationships, and instead of a wall of faces, you get a short daily list of picks.
- ✅ 32-dimension compatibility questionnaire: you’ll learn about you!
- ✅ Daily matches delivered to you, no browsing
- ✅ Guided icebreakers and a distance filter
Cost: No standard one-month option. Premium commonly runs about $19 to $37 a month as a monthly equivalent, depending on term and offer; the selected term is billed upfront. Free members cannot see photos or message.
Heads up: Expensive and reported as hard to cancel. Read the auto-renewal terms first.
2. Match: The Biggest Pool, Plus Real-Life Events
For women who want a large pool and prefer to do their own shopping. Match is my top choice for a serious relationship. The pool is huge, the 50+ crowd is its fastest-growing group, and you can search on your own terms or work the daily Top Picks.
- ✅ Search filters for age, distance, kids, and last activity
- ✅ Daily Top Picks, plus a monthly boost on Premium
- ✅ In-person events and a Date Check-In safety feature
Cost: Free to browse and like; messaging needs a subscription. Expect roughly $46 to $51 for 1 month, or $19 to $20 a month on a 12-month plan, roughly $228 to $240 charged upfront.
Heads up: The first two weeks are a firehose, so block off time early.
3. Bumble: You Control Who Talks To You
For women who are finished with unsolicited “hey beautiful” messages. Bumble was not built for us, but it keeps improving for our age group, and it earned its spot for one reason: you decide who gets to speak to you.
- ✅ You send the first message, or set an Opening Move question
- ✅ Advanced filters on paid tiers
- ✅ Profile verification and a 24-hour match window
Cost: Free to swipe, match, and chat. Pricing varies by user and platform; recent 1-month examples are about $40 for Boost, $70 for Premium, and $100 for Premium+.
Heads up: The pool skews younger and pricing is confusing. Set a tight age range and stay free until you have tested it.
4. Facebook Dating: The Free Option Worth A Try
For women already on Facebook who do not want another app. It costs nothing, it lives inside an app you already open daily, and it warms things up through shared groups and friends of friends. Great for practice, though expect plenty of riff-raff.
- ✅ Secret Crush within your own Facebook circles
- ✅ Matches drawn from shared groups and events
- ✅ Separate dating profile, verification, and live-location sharing
Cost: Free. No premium tier.
Heads up: Smaller pool, simpler matching, and you might bump into someone you know.
5. OurTime: All Over 50, But Screen Carefully
For women who want an all-over-50 pool and can do their own vetting. This used to be my number one. Everyone is your age, and the interface is simple, but complaints have stacked up: fake profiles, scammers, bots, and token upsells. It can still work in a larger city, but never share your phone number or financial details before a video chat.
- ✅ Filters for lifestyle and relationship goals
- ✅ Local singles events in some cities
- ✅ Report and block tools, plus tokens for extras
Cost: Roughly $30 to $35 for one month, or about $15 to $18 a month for six months. Free to browse, paid to message. A one-time processing fee may also apply.
Heads up: Anyone who asks for money, ever, is a romance scammer. Block and report.
6. SeniorMatch: A Calmer, Friendlier Crowd
For women in bigger cities who want a smaller, all-over-50 community. Picture a neighborhood cafe rather than a downtown bar. The interface intimidates nobody, every photo passes a live selfie check, and the forums give you somewhere to be besides the swipe screen.
- ✅ Live verification on every photo
- ✅ Interest forums and Daily Picks
- ✅ Free members can reply to a first message
Cost: $33.99 for one month, or $109.99 for six months, about $18.33 a month. Free to browse and reply.
Heads up: Sparse outside big cities.
7. Stitch: Companionship First, Romance Second
For women who would rather meet people through shared activities than a swipe. Stitch is the outlier here, and I mean that as praise. It is a community for older adults built around in-person events and interest groups, so romance grows out of real life instead of a profile photo.
- ✅ Verification of every member before contact
- ✅ Member-run events and interest groups near you
- ✅ Friendship, travel companions and romance, not only dating
Cost: Free Limited membership to explore and attend public events. Paid annual plans are $84, $120 or $180; the $120 Standard plan adds one-to-one connection features.
Heads up: It moves slower than a swiping app. Check the events calendar for your area before paying.
Final Tips Before You Hit Join
- ✅ Fix your profile and photos before you swipe. The algorithm rewards effort, not looks.
- ✅ Two sites, 30 minutes a day, one month, then decide on your package. You will need time.
- ✅ Video chat before any first date, and share nothing beyond your first name until you have seen his face move.
- ✅ When your attitude sours, hide your profile and regroup.
- ✅ Run every man through the three H’s: Head, Heart, and Hoo-ha. Each gets a full vote, and your relationship goals set the bar.
The Inner Work Comes Before Any Site
Every site on this list is only a tool, and no tool makes dating good on its own. The Three H’s start working once you have done the inner work. If you keep picking the wrong men, or you wonder whether real love is still possible at your age, that readiness is the real assignment, and it is where every good dating story I have witnessed began.
