An 11 minute workout for women over 50 sounds too small to bother with. Cat Corchado thinks that is the whole point.
Hi everyone, welcome to the Kuel Life video blog for September. I hope you guys are doing well.
So, let me ask you something. How many times have you told yourself in the last 2 or 3 months, I really need to start exercising again? But then you immediately follow it with, I just don’t have the time. Yeah, I’ve heard that more than I can tell you.
And I will say this. Look, listen. I’m not here to give you another lecture about getting your steps in, joining a gym, counting your calories, blah, blah, blah, or even becoming a completely different human being by Monday.
I’m here to tell you about something much simpler.
It’s called the 11-Minute Fitness Challenge. Why?
Because sometimes 11 minutes is all you need to stop thinking about getting started and actually start.
What Is The 11-Minute Fitness Challenge?
So you’re probably saying, hmm, so what exactly is this 11-Minute Fitness Challenge? Number one, it’s free. It just costs you your email. It’s an online fitness challenge designed to help you get moving without the pressure, intimidation, or the go-hard-or-go-home nonsense. The workouts are short. They’re simple. You don’t need a gym.
You don’t need fancy equipment. And you definitely don’t need to already be fit to participate. You just need 11 minutes.
Why An 11 Minute Workout For Women Over 50 Works
The challenge combines simple strength and cardio movements, always with modifications available, so you can work at the level that makes sense for your body. And that’s important because I don’t believe fitness should be about proving how much you can suffer. I believe fitness should help you feel better in your body.
And let me just say this one thing. The challenge isn’t about how hard the exercises are. The challenge part of it, just the word challenge, is for you. It’s to challenge yourself to get up off the couch or off the floor, whatever, and just start.
Who Is This Challenge For?
So, who is this challenge for? Honestly, it’s for you. It’s for me. I don’t care what level of fitness you are on, you can benefit from this. And especially if you’re a woman in midlife or beyond who has gotten away from regular exercise and you’re just not sure how to get back into it.
Because let’s face it, maybe you’ve been busy. Hello. Maybe you’ve been taking care of everybody else. Uh, hello again. Maybe you’ve dealt with an injury, illness, surgery, burnout, or just plain life.
Maybe your body doesn’t feel the way it used to. Or maybe you’re looking at your old workout routine and thinking, “Girl, we don’t do that anymore.”
That’s okay. You don’t need to go backwards. You need to figure out what works for the body you have right now today.
For The Woman Who Was Intimidated By Fitness
The 11-minute challenge is also for the woman who was intimidated by fitness.
Maybe you’ve never really exercised before. Maybe you’ve tried programs that made you feel like you weren’t doing enough. Maybe you’ve tried a million times and stopped a million times, to the point that maybe you’ve convinced yourself that you can’t do a full 30, 45, or 60-minute workout. There’s no point. And you’re wrong, cuz I’m calling BS on that. And that is the point.
Movement Counts, And Starting Counts
Because here’s what I want you to understand. Movement counts. 11 minutes counts. A few squats, a little strength, getting your heart rate up, it all counts. And perhaps most importantly, starting counts.
Action Creates Momentum
We tend to think we need motivation before we take action, but sometimes it’s the other way around. And girl, if you’re waiting for motivation, that train’s never coming around. It’s just not. Action creates momentum.
Let me say that again because I don’t think you heard me. Action creates momentum.
You don’t have to feel motivated to begin. You just have to be willing to give yourself 11 minutes.
And that’s one of the things I love about this challenge. We’re taking the what, when, where, and how off your plate. You don’t have to figure out what exercises to do. You don’t have to create the perfect workout. You don’t have to spend an hour researching fitness programs.
And you don’t have to beat yourself up because you missed yesterday. This isn’t about perfection.
The No Perfection Policy
In fact, in this community, we have one very important rule. It’s called the No Perfection Policy. Because you know what? Perfection is exhausting.
Progress. Now, that’s something we can work with.
Why Should You Join?
So, you’re probably wondering, “Yeah, well, why should I join?”
Because maybe you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to take care of yourself.
And I’m going to let you in on a little secret. There’s no perfect time.
There’s only the time you decide you’re worth 11 minutes. Now, whether you consciously make the decision or unconsciously make the decision, you’ve already decided.
11 minutes is all you need. 11 minutes to reconnect with your body. 11 minutes to build a little strength. 11 minutes to get your heart pumping. And 11 minutes to remind yourself that your health still matters.
How 11 Minutes Can Become A Habit
And 11 minutes can become a habit. A habit can become consistency. And consistency can create some pretty darn exciting changes. Not overnight and not magically, but through those small steps that actually fit into your life.
And that’s what this challenge is really about. It’s not about becoming someone else. It’s about becoming more connected to you. It’s about proving to yourself that you can start again. You can start small. You can modify. You can take your time. You can have a bad day and come back tomorrow. And you can move your body without punishing it.
Because I believe everyone has the right to feel good in their body. And sometimes feeling better starts with something as simple as 11 minutes.
